Terms and Conditions of Sale

1. The right of admission is reserved by management.

2. The right is reserved to vary, substitute or withdraw advertised programs, artists, venue and seating arrangements as necessary.

3. Tickets are valid only when purchased through an authorised agent. 

4. Generally there is no right to a refund or exchange except as required by law, and/or as provided in the Industry Ticketing Code of Practice.

5. Cameras and other recording devices are prohibited in the auditorium. 

6. Mobile telephones, pagers and other electronic devices must be turned off before entry into the auditorium. 

7. The right is reserved to refuse admission to a ticket holder who arrives late to a performance. The ticket holder may not be allocated to their designated seat or area, until there is a convenient break in the program, if any, or interval. 

8. Patrons who disrupt a performance, who are in use or possession of a prohibited device, or fail to produce concession ID as approriate may be asked to leave the venue without refund of ticket purchase. 

9. Tickets must be retained through the performance.

Lisa Campbell

Lisa Campbell began her career as an actress, working extensively in theatre and film – including productions in London’s West End, Hungary and Greece, and on the Australian tour of Stephen Daldry’s An Inspector Calls, which led to her settling in Sydney.
Since founding Luckiest Productions, Lisa has produced numerous sell-out shows, including four national tours for David Campbell, numerous cabaret productions and most recently the critically acclaimed Sweet Charity at the Hayes Theatre Co. In addition to live performance, she has produced two DVDs - one of which, Good Lovin' Live, reached platinum sales and won an ARIA. In 2010, she wrote and produced the international documentary David Campbell On Broadway.
From 2009-2011, Lisa was Associate Producer of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival. During her time in this role, the festival repeatedly broke attendance and box office records.

 

 

 


Nick Hart

Nick is a leading theatrical lawyer and a director of boutique technology, media and entertainment law firm Blueprint Law (www.blueprintlaw.com.au). At Blueprint Law, Nick heads up the theatre and live events practice, one of the only practices of its kind in Australia. Many moons before becoming a lawyer, Nick cut his theatrical teeth in Edinburgh, programming and emceeing at the Fringe Club at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. He subsequently gained extensive experience as a media and entertainment lawyer, working across the full breadth of the music and theatre industries at specialist law firms and in-house in London and Sydney. Nick combines technical expertise with a commercial approach gained from working at Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group in London and as Head of Legal & Business Affairs for Global Creatures. He has wide-ranging experience across all aspects of developing, producing and licensing theatrical and arena productions in Australia and worldwide.

 

 

 

 

 


David Campbell

David Campbell

David Campbell is one of Australia’s leading musical performers. In addition to releasing four Top 10 albums and an ARIA number one live DVD, he has won three Helpmann Awards for his theatre work and live concerts – as well as many other awards both in Australia and internationally. David was the Artistic Director of the Adelaide Cabaret Festival from 2009-2011.
David was performing at the STC and Sydney Opera House by the age of 22 and followed this by becoming the toast of the New York cabaret world (Time Out described him as “creating the biggest buzz since Barbra Streisand”). His 2001 leading role as Johnny O’Keefe in Shout made him a household name in his home country, and established him as a leading light of Australian musical theatre. Since then, he has performed in shows including Les Miserables, Sunset Boulevard, Carousel, and Pirates of Penzance - as well as maintaining a hugely successful television and recording career. His albums include The Swing Sessions, The Swing Sessions 2, Good Lovin’ and On Broadway.
David can be seen every week day on the Nine Network, co-hosting Mornings with Sonia Kruger. He also has a radio show on Smooth FM every Saturday and Sunday


Richard Carroll

Richard Carroll

Richard Carroll has produced the musicals Sweet Charity (Hayes Theatre Co & national tour); Miracle City (Hayes Theatre Co); High Society (Hayes Theatre Co); and Little Shop of Horrors (Hayes Theatre Co & national tour, 2016).

In 2016 he will direct Calamity Jane for Neglected Musicals, as well as a new work at Hayes Theatre Co. He was Assistant Director on Everybody Loves Lucy and High Society; co-wrote Everybody Loves Lucy, which toured Australia in 2015; and co-conceived Julie Madly Deeply (Australian, Canadian & UK tours and West End). He co-wrote and was Associate Producer of the documentary David Campbell On Broadway for FOXTEL/SBS.

Cabaret and concert producing credits include An Evening with Megan Mullally; Britney Spears: The Cabaret; Everybody Loves Lucy; Mario; Tom Sharah in It’s Raining Me and That 90’s Show; Julie Madly Deeply; Cabaret Whore; Simply Barbra; Gillian Cosgriff’s Waitressing, and other things I do well; Bert LaBonte’s When I Fall in Love: The Nat King Cole Story; ‘Mad Men’ star Bryan Batt in Batt on a Hot Tin Roof; and five national tours for David Campbell.

Richard is a member of the artistic assessment panel for New Musicals Australia, and of the cabaret panel for the Helpmann Awards.

 


Kerry Comerfordkerry

Kerry is an experienced arts and entertainment professional, currently engaged as an independent Producer and Consultant with a specific focus on the development of new work in Australia and Asia. She is a Director with Hayes Theatre Sydney, Circa Contemporay Circus, Brisbane and Destination Sydney Surrounds North.

From 2012-2016 she was Vice- President, Asia Pacific for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Really Useful Group. She joined the company in 1996 as Executive Producer and was responsible for Cats; the Australian and Asia tour; The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in 1996; and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for New Zealand, Hong Kong and Singapore. In 2001 Kerry was appointed General Manager for RUG in the Asia Pacific region and oversaw the presentation of; the first Korean Language production of The Phantom of the Opera in South Korea; The Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber in Beijing and Shanghai; the Australian production of The Graduate; and The Phantom of the Opera productions in South Africa, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Singapore. She has been responsible for numerous international Cats seasons including presentations in Lebanon, Qatar, Kuala Lumpur, Korea, Shanghai, Taiwan, Scandinavia, Athens, Macau, Philippines, Thailand and an 8-city tour of China.

As Vice-President, Asia Pacific for The Really Useful Group, Kerry led; the development and production of the first Chinese Language Production of Cats, which toured to 10 cities in China; an international Cats tour to South Korea, Singapore, Macau, New Zealand and Australia; the premiere presentation of The Phantom of the Opera in Istanbul as well as tours to South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan and China; and a tour of The Sound of Music to 11-cities in China, New Zealand, Singapore and Australia.

Kerry worked for many of Australia’s leading theatrical companies including the MLC Theatre Royal, The State Theatre Company of South Australia and The Adelaide Festival Centre Trust. As Executive Producer for the AFCT she was responsible for the national and international tour of Me and My Girl, the Australian tour of Stephen Berkoff’s One Man and the national tour of Hello Dolly. She was Marketing Manager for the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Director, Tandanya, Aboriginal Cultural Centre, Administration of Come Out Youth Arts Festival and Office Manager with the State Theatre Company of SA.

Neil Gooding Productions Pty Ltd (NGP) was established in 2002.  It brings high quality theatrical experiences to Australian and International audiences - with a strong focus on the development of new Australian work, particularly focusing on Musical Theatre. The company was one of the producers of Alan Cumming’s one-man version of Macbeth on Broadway as well as co-producing with Luckiest Productions the recent season of Sweet Charity at Hayes Theare Co.  In recent years, NGP has produced Sing On Through Tomorrow by Matthew Robinson, LOVEBiTES by Peter Rutherford and James Millar, Love Letters starring Ian Stenlake and Rachael Beck, Irving Berlin: Songs In The Key Of Black starring Lucy Maunder, Show Stoppers with Luckiest Productions, The Divine Miss Bette starring Catherine Alcorn, as well as being one of the producers of the Australian play Holding The Man in the West End starring Jane Turner and Simon Burke, In 2009, NGP was one of the producers of the original tour of Breast Wishes, as well as  the Australian premiere of Gutenberg! The Musical, which was nominated for numerous Helpmann Awards, Green Room Awards and Sydney Theatre Awards. In 2008, with WhiteBox, NGP produced the World Premiere of Rutherford and Millar’s The Hatpin starring Caroline O’Connor, Barry Crocker AM and Melle Stewart, which then went on to perform at the New York Musical Theatre Festival in September 2008.

 

 

 


Michelle Guthrie

Michelle Guthrie Michelle Guthrie has worked in the entertainment industry for over 25 years. Originally as a performer with credits including Wilton Morley’s production of The Rocky Horror Show and Peter Williams’ production of Dames at Sea. As an agent Michelle ran Australian Creative Management and was a Client Manager with the Harry M Miller Group. As a publicist Michelle has worked with Mollison Consulting and The Really Useful Company Australia before setting up her own company MGM Publicity & Promotions fourteen years ago. MGM has managed the media for Cyndi Lauper, Barry Humphries, The Dali Lama, The Phantom of the Opera, Guys & Dolls, Bernadette Peters, Kristen Chenoweth, The Helpmann Awards and more. Michelle is also the producer of Neglected Musicals having presented Twelve rare and neglected musicals including Lucky Stiff, My Favourite Year and She Loves Me.

 

 

 

 

Mark Johnson AO

Mark Johnson is the Chairman of Alinta Energy, a Director of Westfield Group and Senior Adviser to Gresham Partners.   He is also Chairman of The Australian Securities and Investment Commission External Advisory Panel, and Adviser in Australia to The Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFG.Mr Johnson has spent more than forty years in banking and corporate finance and retired as Deputy Chairman of Macquarie Bank in 2007 and was Chairman of Macquarie Infrastructure Group in 2010.  He was Chairman of AGL Energy and Guinness Peat Group.He was also Chairman of the Australian Financial Centre Task Force, an Australian Government initiative directed towards ensuring efficiency and competitiveness in the financial services sector.  From 2002-2013 he was one of the three Australian representatives on the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) and Chairman of the APEC CEO Summit in Sydney in 2007.Other current affiliations include:   Chairman of the US Study Centre Foundation at Sydney University, Chairman of the Advisory Board of the APEC Study Centre at RMIT University and a member of the Board of Governors of the Institute for International Trade at the University of Adelaide.

 


 

John Robertson OAM

roboA life time in theatre John Robertson worked for many theatre organisations before joining JC Williamsons as stage director for a string of important productions, such as A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum, The Great Waltz, Sweet Charity, I Do, I Do and the original production of Man of La Mancha. In 1971 he was promoted to Executive Production Director, for major productions such as No, No, Nanette, International Ice Follies 1973, Pippin, Irene and Gypsy. In 1977 Robertson joined the Adelaide Festival Centre Trust as Production Manager on shows including Ned Kelly, which opened at the Adelaide Festival Theatre in December 1977. Annie, in 1978, and Evita, in 1980.

Moving onto become an Executive Producer. He worked on the national tours of Barnum and Oklahoma! in 1982, and Song and Dance in 1983. Robertson became a director of Cameron Mackintosh’s Australian company in 1986. He has been Executive Producer for the original Australian productions of Cats, Les Misérables, Five Guys Named Moe, The Phantom of the Opera, Miss Saigon and Rent. In 2000-01 John was production consultant for the Manila, Hong Kong and Singapore production of Miss Saigon.

He was executive producer for Mamma Mia! since it opened in Melbourne in 2001. In 2007-08 he was consultant for Billy Elliot – The Musical at the Capitol Theatre in Sydney and the 2009-10 Australian tour of Mamma Mia! In 2011 John was involved with the Australian production of Mary Poppins as well as Miss Saigon in Korea. In 2003 Live Performance Australia presented John Robertson with its James Cassius Williamson Award in recognition of his contribution to excellence in Australian performing arts. In 2014 John Robertson was awarded an OAM for his service to the entertainment industry.

Reginald Murphy was the Alderman for Fitzroy Ward, 5 December 1959 until 13 November 1967.  He was a member of the 297 Murphy reginald 292x392Finance Committee, 1960-74 and its Vice-Chairman in 1962, the City Planning and Improvements Committee, 1960-67, and the Community Services Committee, 1969-74. He was a member of the Australian Labor Party.

It is not known when Reginald Murphy was born, but there are two possible births that could be him either in 1909 at Cobar or in 1910 at Tenterfield. In 1937 at Canterbury he married Mary (Molly) Pritchard who pre-deceased him. He died at his Hillsdale home, aged 85, on 28 October 1994, survived by his children Judy, John and Rita. He was interred at the Northern Suburbs Lawn Cemetery.

 

The Reginald Murphy Community Hall at Greenknowe Avenue, Potts Point, was named for him whilst still he was still in office in 1967.

Hayes Theatre Co is a not for profit company governed by a Board of leading industry experts. Named after Australian musical theatre legend, Nancye Hayes AM, the venue is dedicated to honouring the vast history of Australian Musical Theatre and its practitioners and developing the next generation of performers, creatives and producers. image3

In 2012, a group of independent producers of music theatre works came together with the idea of creating a permanent home for music theatre and cabaret in Sydney. They were successful in securing the tender for the space at the Reginald Murphy Hall formerly occupied by Darlinghurst Theatre Company who had relocated to the newly built Eternity Playhouse.

The doors to Hayes Theatre Co opened on 7 February 2014 with the first performance of Sweet Charity produced by Luckiest Productions and Neil Gooding Productions in association with Hayes Theatre Co. This inaugural production went on to be nominated for 8 Helpmann Awards, and winning 3 Awards for Best Direction of a Musical, Best Choreography of a Musical and Best Actress in a Musical, followed by a national tour in 2015.

Since then, Hayes Theatre Co has continued to build on this success presenting an annual season of 8-10 mainstage productions, a Cabaret Season and a number of one-off cabaret performances. By providing independent producers with a venue to mount productions of new and reimagined musicals Hayes Theatre acts as a co-presenter of each production staged at the venue. Several productions that began at Hayes Theatre Co have gone on to interstate transfers and national tours including Blood Brothers, Heathers and Little Shop of Horrors. BPS 0272

Productions staged at Hayes Theatre Co have been nominated for and won numerous awards at the Helpmann Awards, Sydney Theatre Awards and Glugs Awards. In a very short time, the company has gained national and international recognition for its contribution to the Australian music theatre industry.

Hayes Theatre Co is the home for the New Musicals Australia program designed to foster the development of writers and composers of new Australian musicals. Each year, a production is selected to go into full production after going through the development process offered through New Musicals Australia. Artists appearing in the productions staged at Hayes Theatre Co are contracted on either a co-operative (profit share) or Award-rate paying basis. All productions directly produced by Hayes Theatre Co are on Award-rate contracts in accordance with the Live Performance Australia Award.

Hayes Theatre Co is made possible through the City of Sydney’s Accommodation Grants Program, and assisted by the Australian Government through the Australia Council for the Arts, its arts funding and advisory body.

Nancye Hayes is one of Australian musical theatre's true triple threats, being a superb dancer, fine singer, actor, and now also a choreographer, director and teacher. She has performed and starred in numerous musicals in Australia such as Promises, Promises, Cabaret, Pippin, Irene, Nine, Sweeney Todd, Chicago, Annie, 42nd Street, Guys and Dolls, Follies in Concert and Showboat to only name a few.

Ms Hayes has received many accolades for her contribution to the Australian theatre scene which include two Helpmann awards, Lifetime Achievement Awards from the Variety Club, the Green Room Awards Association and the Sydney 

Theatre Awards. In 2011 Nancye was honoured to be a recipient of the JC Williamson Award that recognises outstanding contribution to the Australian Live Performance Industry and in 1981 her services to the performing arts were recognised with the Medal of the Order of Australia.
