Musical Director John Martin

A Biopic Cabaret tribute ‘Unseen: A tribute to Marni Nixon’ takes audiences on a stroll down memory lane exploring the incredible life and career of singer and actress Marni Nixon, revealing the secrets of some of Hollywoods most loved stars.

Having dubbed the singing voice of luminaries including Marilyn Monroe, Audrey Hepburn, Natalie Wood and Deborah Kerr, Nixon became one of the most remembered but unknown voices of the golden age of Hollywood.

Featuring songs from hit films including West Side Story, My Fair Lady, The King and I and many more, Nixon’s dulcet tones memorialize some of the greatest music theatre tunes of our time earning her the titles ‘The Voice of Hollywood’ and ‘The Ghostess with the Mostest.’

Embodying the chameleon like qualities of Marni Nixon is up-and-comer Melody Beck (Stalker: The Musical) who not only imitates the women Nixon sang for, but takes on the character and energy of Nixon with great aplomb, paying tribute to one of the finest voices of our time.

Not only does she hit every note of Nixon’s phenomenal range with confidence and clarity, but Beck manages to also capture all of the many and varied accents required of the characters she portrayed in song and the distinctive vocal nuances of the actresses she ghosted for. - The Advertiser

Melody Beck herself possesses a crystal clear, classically trained soprano voice. She shares with Marni Nixon, a keen ear and remarkable vocal flexibility which allows her to mimic and reproduce the idiosyncrasies of particular voices, in this case, very famous voices. She has harnessed this talent to create an impressively researched, stylishly performed and delightfully entertaining cabaret, for which she was masterfully accompanied at the piano by John Martin. - Arts Review
