The Theatre Division in association with Hayes Theatre Co present

Baroness Bianka's Bloodsongs

Directed by Lisa Freshwater / Designed by Brigette Thorn

Critically acclaimed songwriter and storyteller Joanna Weinberg is bringing her brand new show BARONESS BIANKA’S BLOODSONGS to Hayes Theatre Co as part of A Month of Sundays for three shows only.

BARONESS BIANKA’S BLOODSONGS is a very black comedy that tells the utterly surprising and hilarious story of the bizarre Baroness and how she overcame her peculiar addiction. This fresh and innovative show is told with engaging stories and original songs and comes to the Hayes from successful seasons in Canberra, the Melbourne Cabaret Festival and Django’s Bar in Sydney.

“Interweaving insight with madcap drama, she breaks taboos in a plot that is breathtaking in its originality and had the audience howling with laughter.”  Canberra Weekly

“…a skilled and powerful performer able to build a narrative like a great novel, you just want to keep turning the pages.”  Melbourne Cabaret Festival

“The originality of her song-writing is so distinctive, compelling and surpassing… it’ll give pleasure and meaning that’ll last for hours, days, weeks, months and even years after.”  Australian Stage

“A consummate cabaret performer and a fascinating songwriter.”  Canberra Critics’ Circle

Joanna is the co-writer and songwriter of the Australian feature film Goddess, 2013, the music of which was nominated for an Australian Film Critics Circle Award, and the composer and writer of the musicals Lifeforce, which won the Pick of the Fringe at the 2013 Sydney Fringe Festival, and Every Single Saturday. This is Joanna’s 10th one woman show and her third collaboration with director Lisa Freshwater.
