Neil Gooding Productions and Queenie van de Zandt in association with Hayes Theatre Co presents Blue Queenie Portrait

BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchell

Written by Queenie van de Zandt and Max Lambert

Musical Director Max Lambert

Starring Queenie van de Zandt

Renowned for her artful storytelling and raw, emotive vocals, cabaret chanteuse Queenie van de Zandt, returns to the cabaret stage with a brand new show exploring the songs, stories and art of the musical legend that is Joni Mitchell.

Renaissance woman, painter and poet, Mitchell created a soundtrack for the Woodstock generation.

In BLUE: The Songs of Joni Mitchell, Queenie, along with musical director Max Lambert and a live band, explore her love of all things Joni – affectionately reinterpreting Joni Mitchell’s melancholy music, and intimately revealing the stories behind some of her most haunting songs such as A Case of You, Both Sides Now and Little Green.

“Queenie van de Zandt performed as exquisite a biography as you’re likely to hear. Near aural perfection... extraordinary and emotional” Australian Arts Review

“...the exceptional, vocal powerhouse that is Queenie van de Zandt...uses her thrilling voice and soaring range to explore the music of Joni Mitchell...” Herald Sun

"Van de Zandt...takes your breath away with her story telling and her voice – so pure it rattles your composure” Stage Noise

“From the moment “Blue: The Songs of Joni Mitchell” opens...it is clear that the night is going to be a very special experience... not just for fans of Mitchell’s songbook and legacy, but also for all lovers of music and storytelling”. BlueCurtainsBris.wordpress.com
